Ce qui s’est produit aujourd’hui à l’Assemblée nationale constitue une grave atteinte à l’esprit de nos institutions et à l’exigence démocratique que le peuple sénégalais est en droit d’attendre de ses dirigeants.
Lorsqu’une majorité décide d’imposer sa volonté au mépris des principes, lorsque la force prend le pas sur le droit et que les calculs politiques écrasent les exigences institutionnelles, c’est la crédibilité même de l’État qui se fragilise.
Une démocratie ne se mesure pas uniquement à l’existence d’institutions. Elle se mesure surtout à la manière dont ceux qui détiennent le pouvoir les respectent, les protègent et s’y soumettent eux-mêmes.
Le Sénégal mérite mieux que des pratiques de confiscation institutionnelle.
Il mérite mieux que des logiques de revanche, d’humiliation ou de domination prennent le dessus sur l’intérêt national.
