Le Président de la République a posé un acte majeur qui rappelle clairement qu’en matière de politique étrangère, l’initiative et l’autorité lui reviennent pleinement. Sa réactivité face à la crise en Guinée-Bissau a démontré une compréhension lucide des enjeux sécuritaires à nos frontières et surtout une volonté d’agir avant que la situation ne dégénère.
Pour une fois, nous avons vu le Président prendre les devants et non se laisser entraîner par les déclarations brouillonnes et les orientations improvisées d’un Premier ministre qui, depuis des mois, tente d’imposer une diplomatie personnelle, alignée sur des régimes où la démocratie n’est qu’un parent pauvre et où l’autoritarisme se proclame en modèle.
Au moment où tout le Sénégal se mobilisait derrière ses institutions pour prévenir les risques liés à cette crise, le Premier ministre a choisi de parler de « combine » depuis la tribune de l’Assemblée nationale.
Une accusation gratuite, laissant entendre que le président constitutionnellement déchu de Guinée-Bissau serait en connivence avec ses putschistes.
Une sortie à contretemps, à contre-raison et à contre-intérêt national.
Pensant qu’il allait s’arrêter là, nous l’avons entendu réitérer ses pensées sur la CEDEAO comme pour nous pousser à ressusciter ses vieilles diatribes contre la CEDEAO, cette même organisation dont il avait attaqué les chefs d’État par le passé.
Cependant, aujourd’hui, c’est le Président du Sénégal lui-même qui est engagé dans un processus diplomatique avec cette même CEDEAO, cherchant à stabiliser une situation explosive à nos frontières, pendant que son Premier ministre rouvre inutilement les blessures et rallume les tensions.
Le communiqué officiel du ministère de l’Intégration africaine, publié le 27 novembre 2025, montre pourtant une ligne claire, républicaine, responsable condamnation la prise de pouvoir par la force et réclamant l’exigence du rétablissement de l’ordre constitutionnel ainsi que la libération immédiate de toutes les personnes arrêtées.
Ce communiqué indique aussi que le Président a personnellement conduit les échanges diplomatiques qu’il a assuré des contacts permanents avec tous les acteurs bissau-guinéens et qu’un aéronef gouvernemental a été affrété pour accompagner le processus.
Pendant que la diplomatie officielle travaille, le Premier ministre s’enfonce dans la polémique, s’exonère de la solidarité gouvernementale et fragilise la position internationale du Sénégal au moment même où elle doit être la plus cohérente.
Il faut le dire sans détour, le Premier ministre s’éloigne du cap national, s’isole dans un entre-soi de flatteurs et place son ego là où devrait se trouver le sens de l’État.
Dans une crise aussi sensible, le Sénégal n’a pas besoin d’une cacophonie au sommet mais d’une unité de doctrine.
