J’ai partagé une cellule avec des compatriotes sénégalais qui ont subi des tortures et des bastonnades lors de leur arrestation par des éléments non identifiés qui se réclament de la police sénégalaise.Certains d’entre eux ont juste eu la malchance de tomber sur leurs bourreaux. Ils n’avaient rien à voir avec la manifestation pacifique organisée par le collectif Ñoo Lánk, ce vendredi 20 décembre, pour dire « NON A LA HAUSSE DU PRIX DE L’ELECTRICITE ».
La presse non plus n’a pas été épargnée. Elle a fait l’objet de brimades. Elle n’a pas pu réaliser convenablement son travail lors de cette journée mémorable pour les citoyens sénégalais.
Nous n’avons pas résisté, nous n’avons pas répondu à la provocation car notre rôle n’est pas de nous opposer à la police Nous sommes conscients de nos devoirs civiques.
Au contraire, nous avons tout intérêt à élever et à honorer la police sénégalaise. Elle a en charge notre sécurité. Et, elle s’en occupe parfois sans moyens et dans des conditions de travail difficile.
Cependant, cette police doit rester au service exclusif de la République. Son engagement et sa mission doivent transcender les appartenances partisanes et s’adosser sur des bases légales solides qui encadrent son professionnalisme. Il ne faudrait pas qu’elle continue de laisser croire que ceux qui bandent les muscles sur les plateaux des médias et qui demandent à mater et à casser leurs contradicteurs ne comptent que sur une police au pas, prête à accepter n’importe quelle directive en usant et en abusant de la force publique.
Nous prenons l’opinion nationale et internationale à témoin.Nous n’accepterons plus que des éléments non identifiés nous interpellent en pleine rue.Nous n’accepterons plus qu’une violence aveugle soit exercée sur nous sans aucune raison valable.
Nous prendrons toutes nos dispositions pour qu’aucun individu ne puisse profiter d’un manteau quelconque pour entraver illégalement notre liberté d’opinion.
Le combat pour l’émancipation de notre peuple n’est pas négociable. Il ne s’effondrera pas face à l’intimidation et à l’oppression. Nous invitons les autorités de la police à veiller au respect des lois et règlements par tous leurs éléments. Ceux qui nous ont accueillis au commissariat central ont fait preuve de professionnalisme et devraient inspirer les agents de terrains qui foulent au pied les règles élémentaires de maintien de l’ordre et versent dans de l’agression.
Nous attirons l’attention des organisations de défense des droits de l’homme sur ces dérives inacceptables ainsi que les représentations diplomatiques dans notre pays.
