À la tête d’une délégation de AGIR nous avons reçu ce mardi 14 février une délégation de la plateforme « Jàmm a Gën 3ème mandat » composée de Mamadou MBODJ, Souleymane GUEYE et de Aliou SANÉ.
Nous adhérons à cette initiative heureuse et prenons l’engagement de nous impliquer fortement pour dire NON à un troisième mandat.
Le président Macky Sall avait fait deux promesses concernant le mandat avant son accession au pouvoir. La première promesse concerne la durée et la seconde concerne le nombre de mandats.
Il a respecté partiellement la première promesse en réduisant la durée du mandat à 5 ans mais tout en évitant d’appliquer cette durée à son premier mandat comme il l’avait lui-même promis.
Sur le nombre de mandats, le Président Macky Sall qui avait participé au combat contre le troisième mandat s’était accordé avec tous les acteurs de ce combat sur le fait que la constitution de 2001 limitant le nombre de mandats à 2 devait être scrupuleusement respectée.
Aujourd’hui sans donner une réponse claire sur cette question, il plébiscite ceux parmi ses partisans qui portent la voix d’une troisième candidature. En effet ces derniers sont de plus en plus audibles et sont applaudis au moment où ceux qui ont préféré lui recommander de s’en tenir à deux mandats sont sanctionnés.
Cette posture malheureuse risque de créer des tensions inutiles dans notre pays qui traverse déjà une situation compliquée.
Un large front des forces vives de la nation est donc nécessaire pour dissuader le Président Macky Sall de se presenter pour un troisième mandat qui risque d’être préjudiciable à la paix sociale qui est notre première richesse et qu’il a la responsabilité de préserver.
